Susan Goldberg, president and chief executive officer of GBH, joins us on International Women’s Day for a fireside conversation on innovation and women’s leadership in media and journalism. Goldberg will also receive the 2023 NYU Global Trailblazer Award for Leadership Excellence as part of the NYU Women Lead: A Global Leadership Accelerator.

Susan Goldberg—president and chief executive officer of GBH—the preeminent public media organization in the US—is forging bold pathways in leadership excellence by centering gender-equity and intersectional inclusion in media and journalism.

On March 8—International Women’s Day—NYU Women Lead: A Global Leadership Accelerator will honor Susan Goldberg with the 2023 NYU Global Trailblazer Award for Leadership Excellence, followed by a fireside conversation with Dr. Lisa Coleman where they will discuss her pathbreaking leadership journey.

About Susan Goldberg:

Susan Goldberg is president and CEO of GBH, the largest producer of PBS content and a major supplier of content for NPR and digital audio services. She is the first woman to serve in this role since GBH was founded in 1951.

Susan Goldberg has transformed media organizations by diversifying staff, expanding coverage, and executing multi-platform transformation. She was the first woman named editor in chief of National Geographic in 2014 and editorial director of National Geographic Partners in 2015. Under her leadership, National Geographic has been honored with 11 National Magazine Awards and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in multiple categories between 2017-2021.

Goldberg joined GBH in December 2022 from Arizona State University, where she served as a vice dean and professor of practice, with a joint appointment to the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the College of Global Futures.
