Katie Roiphe’s books include The Power Notebooks, The Violet Hour, Uncommon Arrangements, and In Praise of Messy Lives. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Harper’s, Vogue, Esquire, Slate, and The Paris Review, among many other places. She has a Ph.D. in literature from Princeton University.
