Please note: There are no prerequisites for summer courses. When registering, please disregard notation in Albert about prerequisites except for the two 9-week special session courses. Precollege

Q: When will precollege classes be held in the summer of 2016?

Session 2: Tuesday, July 5 – Sunday, August 14, 2016

Q: Who is eligible to enroll?

A: High school sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply.  Current high school seniors who will graduate prior to the start of NYU Precollege (July 5, 2016) should apply to Session 2 of NYU Summer in NYC. Click here for more details.

Q: Are international students eligible to apply?

A: Yes! NYU Precollege has great opportunities for international students. Before applying, be sure to read through the requirements for international students. Most Journalism courses are writing intensive, so your written English should be very strong.

Q: How do I enroll?

Q: How much will this cost?

A: All of our courses are four college credits; tuition and fees for a four-credit class is $6,004. However, all NYU Precollege students who are enrolled in at least one credit-bearing course have the opportunity to participate in a FREE, five-week noncredit college writing workshop taught by NYU’s distinguished writing experts. Q: How many credits is each course? How many courses can I take?

A: All of our courses are four college credits; you can take up to two courses per session. Click here for more details.

Q: Is financial aid available?

A: A very limited number of scholarships are available to academically qualified students who demonstrate a high level of financial need. International students are not eligible for scholarships. More information can be found here.

Q: When will sessions be held in the summer of 2016?

Session 1: May 23 – July 1, 2016
Session 2: July 5 – August 14, 2016
Special Session (Four-week): May 31 – June 23, 2016 (“The Story We See” course)
Special Session (Nine-week): May 23 – July 22, 2016 (“The Beat” and “Inquiry: Multimedia”)

Q: Who is eligible to enroll?

A: Yes! The deadline for application is March 15, 2016. Click here for more information. Most Journalism courses are writing intensive, so your written English should be very strong. One course, the four-week The Story We See, requires little to no writing.
