In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of investigative journalism – what it is; what it’s good for; and the basics of how it’s done. You will learn skills and techniques for finding, researching and developing a story. You will know how to collaborate with colleagues in other countries for a joint project.
At the end of this course, you will have developed a knack for identifying and visualizing a story worth investigating, and know the initial steps of starting such a project at home and/ or abroad. You will also be able to approach both physical and electronic sources with grace and confidence, and you will learn how to approach and build mutual trust with human sources. We will delve deeply into interview techniques and the ethics of developing sources.
