Intermediate Audio Reportage

Intermediate Audio Reportage teaches students how to craft a story in sound. We’ll cover the basic concepts of audio structure, reporting, editing, and mixing. Students will produce two pieces of 2-4 minutes and 4-7 minutes (respectively) over the course of the semester. The goal is for students to emerge from the course with the skills and confidence to create their own narrative audio pieces and/or shows.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Familiarity with audio editing software and audio recording equipment
2. Experience producing audio features
3. Contact the instructor if you are unsure whether you have the necessary skills for the course.
4. Please note: Equipment Insurance is required if you need to borrow equipment. Purchase equipment insurance for a full year through College Student Insurance (CSI) https://collegestudentinsurance.com/.  CSI covers the gear checked out from the Journalism Equipment Room plus personal items such as laptops and cell phones.  Our suggested CSI plan  costs $155 with a $500 deductible.
