Prerequisite: Journalistic Inquiry: The Written Word (JOUR-UA 101). You will be asked to provide information about your previous journalism experience.
In Journalistic Inquiry: Multimedia we focus on storytelling as we shoot video, edit it and produce unique digital content. This class sharpens your editorial, technical and artistic understanding of multimedia. You will learn to write, produce and edit polished and professional quality multimedia video and audio news stories. Tapping into today’s leading collaborative news gathering and production tools, the instructor, a seasoned network producer, will give you the insight and the know-how.
No prior experience or knowledge of editing software is required. You will generate and pursue story ideas, shoot strong video, write scripts, and edit your stories—in six short, door-opening weeks. Class includes a bonus hands-on segment focusing on documentary film production.
Notes: Required for the journalism major and the minor in broadcast and multimedia journalism. Counts as an elective for the minor in print and online journalism.

CSI covers the gear checked out from the Journalism Equipment Room plus personal items such as laptops and cell phones. Our suggested CSI plan costs $155 with a $500 deductible.
