Before Studio 20
After college, I returned to Virginia to intern at a local magazine and work as a substitute teacher. I then moved to Atlanta, GA where I continued teaching and worked for a hip-hop festival.
During Studio 20, I worked directly with…
The Guardian, Storyful, The Marshall Project
Final Project Partner
The Marshall Project
Problem I helped solve…
I helped them measure more subtle, micro-level forms of impact. The Marshall Project has a mission to amplify the nation’s conversation about criminal justice, so I developed a tool that will help the organization track impact based on comments on its Facebook page.
Why Studio 20
Studio 20 was the only journalism grad program I found to be worthwhile. I was looking for something that would give me real, collaborative digital experience and a deep understanding of all aspects of journalism. And, most importantly, I wanted a program that wouldn’t limit me to one or two particular jobs, but instead would open me up to many possibilities. Studio 20 is definitely that program.
