What I Do Now
I am the community editor of Syria Deeply and Refugees Deeply, working at the intersection of strategy, editorial and product.
Before Studio 20
After obtaining a degree in financial and political journalism and a bachelor’s degree in economics, I came to New York as a Wall Street correspondent for The Financial Times Deutschland and NZZ am Sonntag. I also reported for Die Zeit.
During Studio 20, I worked directly with…
Fusion, Facebook
Final Project Partner
Problem I helped solve…
I researched the opportunities and challenges of live video as a tool for journalists.
Professional hops since graduating…
I found out about the job at News Deeply, through Jay Rosen, the day after graduation in December 2016 and started in January 2017.
Why Studio 20
To me, Studio 20 is more like a lab or an incubator for innovation in journalism than just a master’s program. After working full-time as a correspondent for more than four years, I wasn’t interested in the degree as much as the ability to think and experiment outside the box and make connections with like-minded people in the industry.
