Job: Senior Social Media Editor for CNBC
Location: New York, NY
Hometown: Fort Myers, FL
What I Do Now
I’m a Senior Social Media Editor for CNBC. My team is responsible for setting and executing the digital social editorial strategy, and oversees daily posting on CNBC’s flagship accounts across all social platforms.
Before Studio 20
I was an intern at the Miami Herald and the managing editor of the student newspaper at the University of Miami.
During Studio 20, I worked directly with…
The Guardian and The Local East Village
Final Project Partner
The Christian Science Monitor
Problem I helped solve…
I built a social media strategy for DC Decoder, The Christian Science Monitor’s politics blog. I focused on user engagement and building their blog an audience, primarily for the 2012 presidential campaign.
Professional hops since graduating…
I worked for The Monitor for three years, first as an intern and then as its first social media coordinator. I ran the daily management of their social platforms and helped develop a social media strategy. After the Monitor I moved to Bloomberg News, where I worked for two and a half years managing their flagship Twitter account, @business.
Why Studio 20
Before coming to Studio 20, I knew there were gaps in my journalism education. Studio 20 not only helped fill them, but taught me the importance of being a student of journalism, to be excited and curious about my field and passionate about changing it.
