What I Do Now
I run an education startup that teaches workshops about anything superbly interesting, from urban gardening to 3D printing to game development.
Before Studio 20
I was a full-time music journalist, with basic photography and video skills.
During Studio 20, I worked directly with…
HuffPost, ProPublica, The Mozilla Foundation
Final Project Partner
Problem I helped solve…
I produced an original news game that overcame the inefficiencies of game development in an online news environment.
Why Studio 20
Jay introduced a weekly workshop where we engaged in what I would call responsive micro-learning: we would request instruction in certain digital skills, and a few days later, we would get it. That type of innovation ran through every class at Studio 20, so I wasn’t just being pushed forward as a journalist, but also in many ways as a consumer of education. I loved it, and that perhaps contributed to my involvement in an education startup today.
