Job: Deputy Features Editor at Guardian US
Location: New York, NY
Hometown: Montreal, Canada
What I Do Now
I commission and edit digital features across all verticals. From short blog posts to longreads and everything in between, my job is to come up with ideas for Guardian stories and find the right writers to execute them.
Before Studio 20
I worked at the European Journalism Center in Maastricht as the Editor-in-Chief of an international blogging project called Think About It.
During Studio 20, I worked directly with…
ProPublica, Journal Register Company
Final Project Partner
Journal Register Company
Problem I helped solve…
I explored new ways to integrate data resources across a news organization’s network.
Professional hops since graduating…
I started at the Guardian as a Community Coordinator after graduating. Since then, I’ve been Community Editor, Acting Culture Editor and Managing Editor before moving back to a core editorial role, launching our features desk.
Why Studio 20
Studio 20 was the only graduate program I applied to. I wanted to do something that would allow me to have real-world experience, and learn firsthand about the challenges news organizations faced in transitioning to digital. I wanted to learn by doing. Studio 20 is the only program that allowed me to do that.
