Sponsor: NYU JOURNALISM INSTITUTE 20 Cooper Square, 10003 (212-998-1073) is the Sponsor of this drawing. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or terminate the drawing at its discretion, at any time and without notice.

To Enter: To enter, you must either (i) complete the survey online or by another means with assistance from the NYU Journalism Institute as needed to accommodate participants with accessibility needs or (ii) fill out a giveaway form by navigating to the form link on the NYU Journalism Institute website.  There is a limit of one entry per person.

Start and End Dates: The overall promotional period begins at 4pm EST on November 14, 2024 and ends at 4pm EST on November 25th, 2024 (the “Promotional Period”). 

  • There will be one grand prize drawing on November 25th.  All individuals who enter the promotion during the Promotional Period will be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing. 

Eligibility: Prize drawing is open to all current NYU students, faculty, and employees who are 18 years of age or older. Minors who enter the drawing must have the prior written permission of a parent or legal guardian to enter and to receive any prizes, which permission must be submitted in order to receive a prize, if awarded. 

Odds: Odds of winning depend on the number of qualified entries received.

How Winners will be Determined: Prize winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries during the promotion period. Respondent’s will be compiled into a list and winners will be selected via random selection tool. The Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding.

Prize: 

  • Sony Wireless Over-Ear Noise-Canceling Headphones – Black – model WH-CH720N (approx. $100 value)

Prize winners may be required to complete a release and to provide a valid tax identification number prior to receiving the prize.

Winner Notification: The prize winners will be notified via email by NYU Journalism Institute through the winner’s email address provided by the participant in the giveaway sign up form. The prizes will be available for pick up at NYU Journalism Department, 20 Cooper Square, 6th floor, 10003. Prizes will be available for pickup by winner between 9am EST and 5pm EST, Monday-Friday. Winners will have 7 days to acknowledge their selection as a winner via responding to the notification email. The first day counted will be the day following the drawing in which said winner is selected. If winner does not respond by the end of the seventh day a new winner will be chosen. A list of winners may be requested by mail to the Sponsor address.

Waiver: By participating in this drawing, participants release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless, Sponsor from any liability, claims, loss, damages, actual or consequential, or expense arising out of or in connection with participation in this drawing or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for late, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, lost or incorrect entries; technical malfunctions relating to the computer, online system or equipment; entries not received due to lost, failed, delayed or interrupted transmissions, systems or network errors or failures; or any other electronic malfunctions.

Rights Granted: By entering the drawing, the participant grants the Sponsor the right to (i) reshare the submitted entries via social media during the drawing period for marketing or publicity purposes; and (ii) in the event the participant is a winner, use the participant’s name, likeness, and biographical information, and the winning entry, for marketing or publicity purposes.

General. No participant or winner has the right to contest any action or decision of the Sponsor. Participant’s entry into the drawing constitutes agreement to these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry if, in its sole judgment, a participant has not complied with the rules or has attempted to disrupt the operation of the drawing or violated any applicable law or NYU policy. The Rules and any disputes hereunder shall be governed by New York law without regard to conflicts of laws principles.
